The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) announced Thursday that twelve companies were accepted into the next round of its two-year Virginia Leaders in Export Trade (VALET) program. Two Montgomery County companies were accepted to the program: ESS Technologies, Inc, and MELD Manufacturing Corporation.
ESS Technologies, Inc. specializes in packaging line design, equipment manufacturing, and integration. Its essential packaging machinery is used in pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, cosmetics, and consumer goods.
MELD Manufacturing Corporation, a spinout of Aeroprobe Corporation, holds more than a dozen patents for its unique solid-state process that allows for metal manufacturing without melting. MELD was also recently awarded a contract with the US Navy for metal printing and repair.
Montgomery County companies have had a very strong presence in the VALET program over the last few years, including Aeroprobe Corporation, Phoenix Integration, Prime Photonics, LC, Fox Guard Solutions, Inc., Moog, Inc., and Ozmo, Inc.
